I’m Melissa

Beyond following my passion of helping mothers gain confidence I am also a wife and mother to 4 boys. Throughout raising my boys I breastfed each of them for over 1 year; exclusively pumped to bring in my milk supply while my first son was in NICU after birth and unable to feed; and went through relactation in order to provide breastmilk to my youngest son while going through chemotherapy. I worked on a perinatal unit for 14 years and have offered volunteer lactation support for the past 13 years. My experiences with motherhood and breastfeeding fueled my sincere desire to help mothers experience the benefits of this intimate act and provide understanding and peace during challenges.

Apart from my passion for babies and motherhood I love to spend time outdoors with my family, whether that be gardening or spending the day at the ocean. I believe in savouring life’s simple moments, love a strong cup of espresso and my latest hobby includes paddle boarding and baking fresh sourdough for my family.

At Au Lait Lactation Support, I embrace a holistic approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of you and your baby's physical, social, and emotional needs. I understand that your well-being and your baby's well-being go hand in hand, and I am here to provide comprehensive care that addresses both. I am culturally sensitive, acknowledging and respecting your unique cultural background, personal beliefs, values, customs, and lifestyle.
